Recently, Sherry Graham with the Wichita Business Journal reported that Wichita was named one of America’s Top 100 Places to Live in 2004 by Relocate-America.com, a Web site designed to help consumers find communities that best fit their family's needs.
The story stated that a community is nominated by a current or past resident, or other individuals familiar with the community's benefits. The individual submits a brief description that is reviewed by Relocate America's editorial team. Submitted descriptions often include references to a community's people and neighbors; serenity; beauty, such as a downtown with trees; schools; low crime rates; activities such as museums, theaters and sports; and health of the City's economy including employment opportunities and affordable housing.
For verification and ranking, the nominated towns are compared against education, crime, employment and housing data for the past year by Relocate America's editorial team and the Top 100 is then selected.
From the top 100, the top 10 communities are ranked based on the number of nominations. This year, Venice, Fla. tops the list.
Relocate-america.com is one of a family of real estate Web sites founded by HomeRoute, an Internet real estate company that provides consumers with real estate resources.
