For the sixth year in a row, Wichita Mid-Continent Airport has received zero discrepancies in its annual Certification and Safety inspection. The inspection was done this week by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Region’s Lead Certification Inspector. The inspection covers airport emergency response capability, airfield safety maintenance and self-inspection program, compliance with FAA regulatory and operational directives and personnel training programs.
“My compliments and congratulations go out to all of our Operations, Maintenance and Public Safety staff that have again made it possible to complete this important inspection with no discrepancies,” Assistant Director of Airports Brad Christopher said. “They are to be commended for their hard work and diligence in making this possible. This is a testament to their commitment to a high level of safety.”
Mid-Continent Airport has received perfect inspections in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The coveted FAA – Central Region Airport Safety Enhancement Award was awarded in 2000, 2005, and 2007. In order to receive this award, the Airport must have three consecutive years of zero discrepancies.
