Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals is a volunteer group of seven members appointed by the Wichita City Council to review requests for variances of the specific requirements of the zoning code and appeals from the zoning administrator’s interpretation of the zoning code. A variance is a deviation from a specific requirement of the zoning code, such as side yard setback, building height, number of parking spaces, etc.

Meeting Calendar

If there are any cases filed by applicant(s), the BZA meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM in the Planning Department Conference Room on the 10th floor of City Hall, 455 N. Main St., Wichita, Kansas. For information on procedures and applications, contact the Secretary of the Board of Zoning Appeals at (316) 268-4421. BZA meetings are public hearings and visitors are welcome.
