The City of Wichita Park & Recreation Department prides itself in offering a variety of activities with something to see and do for almost any age. Whether you enjoy biking, wildlife, sports, recreation, golfing or simply reading underneath a tree – our beautiful parks give you an enjoyable and scenic place to do it.

The Wichita Park & Recreation Department offers the citizens of Wichita over 100 parks and 4,200 acres of beautiful and splendid grounds to enjoy. These parks are some of the most picturesque in the State of Kansas. The department offers residents a wide variety of activities and options at every location. Such amenities include swimming pools, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, picnic shelters, barbecue grills, softball fields, playgrounds and golf courses to name only a few. Safe and convenient public biking and jogging trails stretch throughout Wichita and offer a new delight with every visit. You will also find public works of art, statues, fountains, monuments and memorials located in our parks, park boulevards and other public areas maintained by the department.

The area parks are a big part of the exceptional quality of life enjoyed by Wichita residents.
